\u2018Doula\u2019 originates from ancient Greek and means \u2018servant of the woman\u2019. Women have always been accompanied by women experienced in childbirth, i.e. a doula has already given birth herself and knows what it feels like to be pregnant as well as to give birth.<\/p>\n
A doula provides the woman and\/or birthing couple emotional security and strengthens their self-confidence. You could also say that your doula will become a \u2018temporary\u2019 friend.<\/p>\n

During your pregnancy, our main goal is to get to know each other and to build mutual trust. You will tell me your story, get to know your needs and wishes, as well as those of your birth partner. Together we will create a wish list for your birth.<\/p>\n
I will be on call 24\/7 for two weeks before and two weeks after your due date. I am there for you throughout the whole birth process, will support you, give you strength and encouragement, provide massage, pass you food and drink. I am as hands on or off as you need me to be. I can take photos if you wish or stay with a sibling if the babysitter is not available.<\/p>\n
In the postpartum period we will go through the birth again. Perhaps you may need a helping hand with household chores, running errands, looking after a sibling or you want to lie down for an hour and have no one to look after your baby?<\/p>\n
